American Idol hmmmm

I could pretend that I'm NOT one of the 45 million people that watch American Idol every week. I've watched a few seasons, missed a few, but certainly have enjoyed several of the singers that have been spewed across national television. Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, loved Jennifer Hudson and Latoya London, Carrie Underwood - then there's a few we wanted to forget. Like William Hong. Or Fantasia whatever her name was. But my piece today is that I just HAD to comment on the killer star of the season (and all the other season's combined in my humble opinion) - Adam.

I don't even remember what his last name is. Maybe he's like Madonna, he doesn't need his last name. Anyhow, I don't remember it. But I flip on American Idol religiously every week JUST to see what he's going to do. It's obvious he has theatrical experience - I heard he auditioned pre-Idol for Broadway -, he's obviously got the showmanship, and the edgy look that makes him stand out from the rest of the pop-py, ballad driven Idols. But his VOICE. I don't even know what to compare it to. The way he takes a song we've heard over and over again and lends his own creative stamp all over it - amazing. When I heard his melting, haunting version of "Mad World" I was on the edge of my seat. As far as I'm concerned, he's the first contestant on the show that I've ever seen that actually has the "it" factor. Adam has that unique sound, talent and artistry that will (or SHOULD) make him the obvious winner for this season. I guess we will just have to wait and see, but it's apparent that it doesn't matter if he wins the silly Idol crown or not, he will definitly go places.

On a side note -- I've always thought that they should do some sort of "Battle of the American Idols". They should pull each winner from each season and have them compete against eachother to see who America votes for NOW. I do believe that Adam would most certainly be in the top three, if not the winner of them all. What can I say? He's the first REAL talent I've seen on there. Adam rocks. yeh huh.

Hayley Rose

Very last minute, I got the chance to work with this lovely lady - Hayley Rose. One of the sweetest girls I've met yet. She was bubbling over with enthusiasm and creativity and we chatted the whole shoot. Sometimes you meet those certain people that make you smile from the inside out - and that is Hayley. :)

The one...the only....

Michelle Pearl

These are teensy tiny glass beads applied free-hand in the pattern they appear. I wanted to create something abstract, graceful and colorful. This took several hours and Michelle was so wonderfully patient. Thank you for being such a doll!!! And thanks to Phil Burnett for letting me finally play out the idea!

Quick stop at the mansion

I wish I had gotten pictures of this place! Had a shoot at an incredible house - seriously gorgeous. Set way up in the west hills and stunning views all around. I was busy working on the girls, so I didn't have time to pull out my own camera to snap some shots. This was for the PDX Strobist group - here are a couple of the girls, it was a busy day!

Everyone knows Zuzzie, she's gorgeous and she has the most beautiful accent when she talks. I can't recall where she said she was from, but obviously out of the States. :) She's such a doll to work with!

And Ms Peg, Pegatron, I met that day - she was great fun! She rocks the punk look and told me she does alot of her own MUA work as well. She showed me some fantastic eye color that I hadn't seen before (Thanks Peg!!!) and obviously, creates a fascinating picture :)

These pictures were both taken by Micheal with MJDigitalArt - thanks Micheal for sharing these with me!
